The International Council of Forest and Paper Associations (ICFPA) is pleased to announce that Teresa Presas President of the Confederation of European Paper Industries (CEPI), has been named President of the ICFPA.“I am honoured and delighted to have been elected President of the ICFPA. The ICFPA has shown itself to be a useful forum for areas of real interest to our industries and a significant facilitator on social and economic as well as environmental issues. I look forward to what we can achieve together over the coming two years.” said Ms. Presas.
The ICFPA provides a forum for regular meetings for executives from member associations to discuss key issues of interest to the international forest and paper industry. Recent topics that the ICFPA has turned its attention to included climate change, sustainable forest management, forest
certification and illegal logging. Most recently, the ICFPA announced the signing of an historic global leadership statement on sustainability by the sector, involving more than 60 CEOs and association presidents from around the world.
“I would like to congratulate Teresa on her appointment as President of the ICFPA,” said Avrim Lazar, past President of ICFPA (2005-2006) and President and C.E.O. of the Forest Products Association of Canada (FPAC). "Her extensive experience with the European forest products industry, as well as her strong leadership style will help the ICFPA continue to become a strong voice for the global forest products industry."
Ms. Presas has been elected President for a two-year term.

ICFPA serves as a forum for joint action in areas ranging from communications to data collection.
