Statement of Support for WBCSD/WWF Certification & Illegal Logging Activities

ICFPA members recognize the importance of: forest certification as a tool to promote sustainable forest management (SFM); and the need to combat illegal logging.  In this regard ICFPA members are committed to:

1. Increase international efforts to promote credible forest certification worldwide and to halt illegal logging globally;
2. Support WWF/WBCSD dialogue on Forest Certification and Illegal Logging ;
3. Urge governments, industry, ENGOs and other stakeholders to proactively collaborate in promoting SFM and adopting credible SFM certification worldwide.
